Фото 1
A beautiful building located at Karl Marx 143 / Internatsionalnaya 22 was built in the early 20th century near the Utkin Church. It is designed in the style of late eclecticism and early modernism. Architecturally, the building stands out with a bay window featuring a semi-circular balcony and a turret at the corner, as well as balconies with railings and attics.

The building is known as the Nikolskikh Hotel. In early 20th-century postcards, it was referred to as "Mikhaylov Hotel" or "Mikhaylov's House." P.I. Mikhaylov was one of the organizers of the hotel business in Tambov and originally owned this hotel. Soon, it passed into the hands of the wealthy noble family Nikolskikh. The hotel rooms were electrified, furnished, and equipped in the style of the best Moscow hotels, and the staff was known for their exceptional politeness. A restaurant operated at the hotel, and guests could order breakfasts, lunches, and dinners to their rooms. The Nikolskikh Hotel was considered one of the best in Tambov and hosted many city guests.

After nationalization in 1918, the building housed barracks and the headquarters of military units. Later, it accommodated various committees, a confectionery production, a restaurant, a hotel, and a House of Mercy. Currently, the building has been restored and belongs to the Tambov Regional Duma.
