Bust of I.A. Bunin in Oryol

Фото 1
In Oryol, two monuments have been erected in memory of the great Russian writer I.A. Bunin. Although Ivan Alekseevich was born in Voronezh in 1870, his family moved to the estate of Ozyorki in the Oryol province in 1889, which allows him to be considered an Oryol writer.

On October 17, 1992, a bust of the writer, made of white marble, was unveiled in the square in front of the I.A. Bunin Regional Public Library. The sculpture was created by O.A. Uvarov. The inscription on the marble pedestal reads: "My Motherland, I have returned to you, weary from lonely wanderings, and I understood beauty in its sorrow and happiness, in sorrowful beauty."
