The Burlyn District Local History Museum opened to visitors in December 1991, with its first exhibition being an art gallery. The museum has four halls: natural, ethnographic, exhibition, and military. Currently, the museum's collections hold about 6,000 exhibits.

This collection was gathered through the efforts of many people who sought to preserve for future generations the valuable heritage created by our ancestors. The uniqueness of the museum lies in the fact that its exhibits reflect the development of the villages of the Kulundinskaya steppe and the unique lakes of the region. The collections are significant as they tell the history not only of the district and region but also of the surrounding areas, including Novosibirsk Oblast and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The museum's ethnographic collection contains household items of settlers from various provinces of Ukraine. The archaeological collection showcases the development of ancient traditional societies of Altai, including items related to the Bronze Age. A special pride of the museum is its documentary fund, which includes original documents: papers of settlers, documents regarding the participation of local residents in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as well as in the wars in Afghanistan and Chechnya.
