In Bugrovo, a water mill has been recreated, similar to the one that existed here from 1802 to 1878, during the era of Pushkin. Its reconstruction is based on numerous documents, including the "Inventory of the water mill built by the monastery" from 1805. The mill was built and owned by the monks of the Svyatogorsk Monastery in the second half of the 18th century, while the tenants were the owners of Trigorskoye, A. M. Vyndomskiy and P. A. Osipova-Vulf. Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin also visited this place. The mill is mentioned in some of his poems; the action of the tragedy "Rusalka" takes place there, and there is a version that the duel between Onegin and Lensky in the novel "Eugene Onegin" occurred at the Bugrovska mill, at the dam on the Lugovka River.

The mechanisms for the mill in "Mikhaylovskoye" were delivered from the village of Maslovo in the Opochetsky district of the Pskov region, where an ancient and still operational water mill was located. The adjustment of the mechanisms was carried out by Pushkinogorsk specialists with the assistance of craftsmen from Saransk.

The construction of this museum complex was the final event within the framework of a program funded by the federal budget for the 200th anniversary of A. S. Pushkin. The program also included repair and restoration work in the museum estates of Trigorskoye, Mikhaylovskoye, Petrovskoye, and in the Svyatogorsk Monastery.
