V.A. Danini's 'Big Dacha'

Фото 1
The complex of wooden buildings, located between Pavlovsky Highway and the Separate Park, was built between 1899 and 1902 according to the design of the famous architect of Tsarskoye Selo, Silvio Danini. It included the two-story 'Big' and 'Small' dachas, a stone service wing, and a shed, with a garden surrounding it. The construction was commissioned by the architect's wife, Vera Danini, née Shtukenberg.

Silvio Danini's project also included two dachas on neighboring plots. One belonged to Vera Danini's sister, Sofia Tami (house 30), and the other to Alfred Tami's business partner, Sigismund Deichman (house 32).

To this day, only the 'Big Dacha' from the complex of buildings has survived. After renovations in the 1970s, it housed a branch of the Institute of Agricultural Cybernetics, and later a machine accounting station for the agricultural institute. In the 1990s, the building was home to scientific workers.
