The Bogotol City Local History Museum was founded in 1993 thanks to the initiative of local residents and the support of the city administration and Council. Today, the museum includes four exhibition halls, a multimedia room, and a storage facility. The exhibition area is 218.9 sq. m. Visitors are offered permanent thematic exhibitions: "The Life of Peasants of Prichulym", "Merchant Life", "Life in the Soviet Period", and "Nature. City. Man". The museum's collections contain 14 collections, including paintings, graphics, sculpture, household items, documents, rare books, and the history of technology.

In 2019, the museum operated within the framework of cultural policy, marking the 85th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, and the Year of Theater in Russia, holding events dedicated to these occasions.

The main collection of the museum consists of 6,327 exhibits.

Cultural and educational activities are one of the key areas of the museum's work. Specialists conduct overview and thematic tours, educational events, workshops, give lectures, and organize meetings with interesting people.
