The two-story brick building on Ashkadar Street was built between 1897 and 1905 by the Sterlitamak merchant Dmitry Alexeyevich Fyodorov. He donated it to the city for the establishment of a shelter for homeless elderly men and women.

In 1907, the District Zemstvo Assembly decided to open a Real School in the city. This school had its own economic committee that managed finances: it allocated allowances for teachers and paid for the purchase and delivery of equipment. After the revolution, the inspector of public schools, Moskevich, organized white squads from the students.

Classes at the school ceased in 1918 and resumed only in early 1919. In March 1919, the Real School and the Women's Gymnasium were merged into a single labor school of the second degree.

From 1924 to 1970, this building housed the Lenin Children's Home, after which the premises were transferred to the Sterlitamak School. The house church was consecrated in honor of Saint Martyr Tatiana, but after the revolution, it was used as a utility room.

In 1943, the authorities allowed church services to resume, and the church was returned to the faithful. The restoration of the church was carried out by Father Nikolai Burdukov. However, in August 1960, the church was closed again, and the building, transferred to the medical school, was converted into an assembly hall.

In 1992, services in the church resumed, and on January 15, 1998, the dome with the cross was restored. In March 2001, the building of the shelter was transferred to the Ufa Diocese. Currently, the buildings belong to the Tatiana Monastery of the Mother of God-Tabyn Women's Monastery.
