The churches of the Annunciation pogost are located one kilometer west of the village of Timoshkino. The Annunciation pogost is situated in the Alexandrovsky district, in the first ecclesiastical district, on the right bank of the Shornoga River. Four versts downstream, after the confluence with the Bogona River, the river is called the Big Kirzhach. The distance to the provincial city is 108 versts, and to the district city, 22 versts. In ancient times, the territory of the Annunciation pogost was the estate of the Nagy princes, later transferred by them to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery, and after the abolition of the monastery's estates, it came under the jurisdiction of state property. In 2008, the Holy Annunciation Men's Monastery was reopened at the Annunciation pogost.

The monastery was founded at the site of the Annunciation pogost in 1501. The church here is made of stone, and the exact date of its construction is unknown, but it dates back to ancient times. In the records of the churches of the Pereslavl district, compiled in 1799, it is stated that the church was built in 1501 by the landowner Ivan Ivanovich Nagy. This date is partially confirmed by an inscription on the tombstone regarding the death of Ivan Ivanovich Nagy in 1539. Several tombstones made of white stone with carved and black-painted inscriptions are located against the northern wall of the church, which have worn away over time. Only two can be deciphered: 'In the year 1539, in the month of April, on the 10th day, Ivan Ivanovich Nagy passed away' and 'In the year 7000, in December, on the 22nd day, Euphrosinia, a maiden, passed away in Siberia, in memory of the prophet Habakkuk.' It is assumed that this occurred no earlier than the year 7098 and no later than 7105, when Ivan Grigoryevich Nagy was the voivode in the city of Lozva on the Siberian River, whose daughter died there, and her remains were transported to the Annunciation pogost. There are no written records of other representatives of the Nagy family buried in the church, but local tradition says that the names of the boyars Ivan, Alexei, Vasily, and the princess Euphrosinia have recently ceased to be commemorated.
