The Belovsky Historical and Ethnographic Museum was opened by the decision of the district executive committee. It is located in an old building, to which an extension was added in 1989.

In 1990, the museum was awarded the title of "People's Museum," and in 2001 it became a branch of the Kursk Regional Local History Museum.

The museum's collections contain over 14,000 items, and its exhibition area is 129 square meters.

In 2012, a new exhibition was created, focusing on the everyday life and economic activities of the Russian peasantry in the southern territories of Russia.

Visitors can see a reconstruction of a Russian peasant hut. The interior of the room with a stove has been recreated using authentic peasant household items, allowing one to feel the coziness of a peasant home.

Next to the hut are elements of a peasant yard: a cart ready for a trip to the fair, a real mill, a plow, a harrow, and a cultivator.

In the showcases, several sets of peasant home-spun and hand-woven clothing can be seen.

The museum also has a small collection of artifacts from the Gochevsky archaeological complex, which includes two fortified settlements, burial mounds, and a large settlement. The complex dates back to the late 10th and early 14th-15th centuries.

The museum is visited by more than 6,000 people annually.
