The Belokholunitsky Local History Museum was founded on September 23, 1980. In 2010, it moved to a building constructed in 1893 for the Main Office of the Kholunitsa Factories.

The museum's collection houses over 7,000 historical items. Among them, one can find unique samples of cast iron artistic casting from the 18th and 19th centuries, household items and furniture of the workers from the Kholunitsa factories, as well as clothing, tools, and household items of Vyatka peasants. Weapons, uniforms, and awards of participants in World War I and World War II are also on display.

Visitors to the museum can see a collection of minerals and rocks, learn about the animals inhabiting the area, and examine mammoth remains.

The museum regularly conducts lectures, seminars, and classes for schoolchildren on various topics. Tours of memorial sites, exhibitions of decorative and applied arts, master classes, puppet shows, and quests attract new visitors to the museum. Annually, it is visited by over 18,000 people. The museum has received numerous certificates and letters of thanks, as well as an award diploma and a commemorative gold medal from the Russian UNESCO Committee for its significant contribution to the development of domestic museum culture and in honor of its 30th anniversary.
