The Shukhov Tower, located in the Don District of Moscow, is known not only in Russia but also beyond its borders. However, few know about another tower created by the outstanding engineer Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov, which is located in the village of Polibino in the Lipetsk region. This is the 37-meter hyperboloid tower of Shukhov.

In 1896, the All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition took place in Nizhny Novgorod, showcasing the works of the best masters in the country. Architect Shukhov, not ignoring this event, specially created a hyperboloid tower for the exhibition, for which he held a patent. This tower became the first in his series of works in this direction. Shukhov was ahead of his time and, according to some experts, became a pioneer of constructivism.

On October 14, 1896, the exhibition ended, and the tower was purchased by the patron Yuri Stepanovich Nechaev-Maltsov, who decided to install it in his estate. More than a hundred years have passed since then, but the tower has been preserved, partially restored, and attracts many tourists. Interestingly, photographs from that exhibition have survived, allowing for a comparison of the tower's condition then and now. Although more serious repairs are needed for its preservation, the government has not yet expressed readiness to carry them out.
