Vera Vasilievna Bakhrushina, née Nosova, was the fourth of six daughters of merchant Vasily Dmitrievich Nosov and Klavdiya Dmitrievna Prokhorova.

On January 8, 1895, at a costume ball at the Baidakovs, Alexey Alexandrovich Bakhrushin noticed her, a 19-year-old girl who had recently graduated from gymnasium, and fell in love. He found her brother Vasily, whom he knew, at the ball and asked him to introduce him to Vera Vasilievna.

In his album, A.A. Bakhrushin left the following note:

"January 8, 1895, costume evening at the Baidakovs, January 29 at 4 o'clock on the ice rink and February 2 at 2 o'clock at the ball in the Merchant Club. March 15, 1895." This was recorded on the day the bride arrived at the groom's house and the betrothal took place.

The wedding and dinner took place on April 17, 1895, at the Grand Moscow Hotel. "Zamoskvorechye was related to Lefortovo," wrote Moscow newspapers.
