The State Budget Institution of the Republic of Crimea "Bakhchisarai Historical, Cultural and Archaeological Reserve Museum" is the successor of the museum founded in 1917 in the Khan's Palace, the former residence of the Crimean khans. The reserve includes:

Museum of the History and Culture of the Crimean Tatars;

Memorial Museum of Ismail Gasprinsky;

Art Museum;

Museum of Archaeology and Cave Cities, as well as 118 cultural heritage sites from various eras and cultures. The most famous among them are the ensemble of the Khan's Palace, the fortress city of Chufut-Kale, the "cave cities" of Mangup, Eski-Kermen, Kachi-Kalyon, and the spiritual school of Zyndzhirly-Medrese.

Today, the collections of the reserve museum include over 140,000 items in the main fund and 50,000 auxiliary items. Among the archaeological collections, the most numerous finds relate to antiquity and the culture of the late Scythians, as well as a broad representation of the era of the Great Migration of Peoples and the Middle Ages. The ethnographic part of the collection comprises about 20,000 items of material culture, everyday life, decorative and applied arts, and folk creativity, as well as visual, written, and memorial monuments.

The total area of the museum-reserve is 797.13 hectares.
