The skete was founded on the site of the former prosperous village of Yezdakovo, through which the road to Arzamas passed. In the 15th century, pious residents built a small church in the village in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. With the growth of the village in the late 18th century, it was decided to erect a new stone temple, for which funds were collected from all over. The temple was consecrated on November 21, 1900, and dedicated to the Archangel Michael. Before the 1917 revolution, there were about 300 households in the village. The collective farm existed until the 1960s, but with the construction of a new road to Arzamas, Yezdakovo gradually became deserted, and by 1986 the village was completely uninhabited. In 1997, 206 hectares of land from the village and surrounding areas were transferred to the Seraphimo-Diveevo Monastery for agricultural purposes, marking the beginning of the Archangel Skete's history. Abbess Sergia and the first sisters arrived here in the spring of 1997 after the Annunciation feast. The picture of desolation and ruin was sad: the lands were overgrown with grass and shrubs, the roads were washed out, and the churches were destroyed. However, the grace of Christ supported those who, with faith, revived church life. An akathist was read to Archangel Michael in the ruined Archangel Church, and the work of restoring the skete began. The first task was to build a dormitory for the residents, which consisted of a log cabin with a stove and bunk beds. A refectory was added, where the sisters dined and read the Psalter. The cultivation of the lands was complicated by the presence of pits and foundations of former buildings. The sisters manually removed stones and bricks, and bulldozers were used to level the area for a garden. The restoration of the Archangel Church began with the roof, and after much labor, the church was crowned with five domes. The interior finishing was completed with the radiance of white walls and the shine of the varnished floor. On November 19, 1998, the church was consecrated in honor of the Commemoration of the Miracle of Archangel Michael at Chone. The second winter church, in honor of the Protection of the Mother of God, was restored according to ancient drawings and consecrated on December 31, 2004, in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Bread Giver." In 2009, the church was painted with scenes from the life of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The sanctities of the churches include a painted cross from the grave of the blessed Pelagia of Diveevo and an ark with the relics of saints. The churches house relics of Diveevo saints and Father Seraphim. The Most Pure Theotokos gave the venerable Seraphim a rule that defines the schedule of life for the sisters. Every morning and evening, the residents gather in the church for common monastic prayers. Father Seraphim commanded to read the prayer rule and keep the Jesus Prayer in mind. Services are regularly held at the skete, attended by residents of neighboring villages.
The daily life of the skete includes not only prayer but also work. After the morning rule, the sisters engage in household chores: they work in the church, in the kitchen, care for animals, cultivate gardens and orchards, sew, and maintain order. The day ends with the evening prayer rule. Not far from the skete, the sisters found a moist place where they made a well and a bathing area. The water in the spring is tasty and sweet. The skete is also home to four-legged friends: two German shepherds guard the territory, cats protect against rodents, and a horse named Jordan helps with household tasks.
