The Holy Archangel Men's Monastery is located in the Barbashi hamlet of the Svetloyarsky district in the Volgograd region. Its construction is funded by the Volgograd Holy Spirit Men's Monastery. The monastery is situated in a forested area belonging to the Barbashi forestry. During the construction, a cell building, utility structures, and the Gabriel-Archangel Church have been erected. By the end of 2008, a garage-hangar for equipment was completed, and a locksmith and carpentry workshop were equipped. Work is ongoing on the church's wall paintings, with the right side wall fully decorated.

In 2008, a stone fence made of facing bricks was built on the eastern and southern sides of the monastery, and the construction of a new two-story cell building began. Work on landscaping the area continues: lawns have been arranged, firs, pines, birches, and other decorative plants have been planted, over 500 meters of irrigation pipes have been laid, and sidewalks with metal fences have been constructed.

The monastery has a subsidiary farm, which includes a vegetable garden of 0.6 hectares, an orchard of 0.4 hectares, cattle, and poultry. As of the end of 2008, there are 2 hieromonks, 1 hierodeacon, and 4 novices living here permanently. The residents of the Holy Spirit Monastery also take turns serving at the Holy Archangel Monastery.

On the monastery grounds, there is a church in the Byzantine style, consecrated in honor of Archangel Gabriel, a monastic building with cells, a refectory building, a building for novices and workers with guest rooms, a cattle yard, and utility structures. The entire complex is surrounded by a beautiful brick fence designed in the Byzantine style.
