The project was carried out in collaboration with the anarchist bookstore Freedom Press and the Whitechapel Art Gallery with the support of the Free Form Arts Fund. The artist of the project was Anya Patel. Funding was provided by Bethnal Green City Challenge Co. in partnership with Tower Hamlets Council and local businesses. Among the 36 recognized figures, there were 7 individuals from the Russian Empire: Mikhail Bakunin, Alexander Berkman, Emma Goldman, Peter Kropotkin, Nestor Makhno, Rosa Pessotta, and Leo Tolstoy.
