The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Warsaw, a destroyed Orthodox church, was built in the administrative center of the Kingdom of Poland, which was part of the Russian Empire. It was located on Saxon Square, later renamed Pilsudski Square. The cathedral was designed by architect Leonty Benois; its construction began in 1894, and it was opened in 1912. At the time of its completion, the cathedral reached a height of 70 meters and was the tallest building in Warsaw.

In the mid-1920s, Polish authorities demolished the cathedral, less than 15 years after its opening. The main reason for the demolition was that the cathedral, located in one of the city's main squares, symbolized Russian dominance over Poland. In addition to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, many other Orthodox churches in Poland were destroyed for the same reasons.
